Snowmads Travel is the travel agency initiated by the Snowmads in order to let YOU experience our travel spirit and get to know the destinations that we’ve been exploring on various trips in the past.
Going to unusual, not well-known places can make it very difficult to travel on your own, especially if you don’t have local contacts or speak the language. Here we saw an opportunity to bridge the gap, connecting our local friends with those looking for adventures in their home places.

Our trips are rooted on the interactions and experiences built on the local people in the countries we visit. Snowmads Travel didn’t start out of motivation to make money… it just happened that we met exciting and beautiful people and found hidden wonders along our journeys.
Through our local guides, we take you to the destinations you might not find on your own, open your horizons through unexplored terrain, and question your perspectives with authentic experiences.

We all have a degree of responsibility when it comes to traveling, especially while exploring the corners of the world where tourism is just starting. At Snowmads, we respect and appreciate the local people, their customs, traditions and environment. In doing so, we accept that some things run a little differently from the non-stop functioning society that most of us find ourselves in.
So, plans can change… and in the countries we like to travel, they often do. By not tying ourselves to strictly planned itineraries and leaving some room for small changes, we try to always be where we find the best possible conditions for our adventures. Balkan based fellow Snowmad Dani, says, “less expectations more happiness”.
Marco is an independent mountain guide and long-time friend of Jules & Fabi.
When we came up with the idea of Snowmads Travel, it quickly became clear that we needed reliable partners who shared our ideas and travel philosophy.
Marco is particularly committed to a sustainable approach towards our planet and inspires when it comes to corporate responsibility. We are happy to have Marco in the team and to implement valuable projects in our destination with him. Marco is currently working with “Lola peak solutions” and “GIZ” to install an avalanche warning system in the Balkans.
If you ever need something in the Balkans, Dani will know where, who and how to get it. When we travel with Dani, you get the ‘no worries’ package. Dani is always happy to find a way to make our journeys that little bit more easy while he shows us something new and uncharted.
Hidden behind the humble smile of Hamdi, is a man known on the mountain as “Super Hamda”. Hamdi knows the rugged mountains bordering Kosovo, North Macedonia & Albania like no other and is infamous in the region for his expertise and knowledge.
The term “Baba” is used in multiple languages and has different meanings. Sometimes it means grandfather, friend and in some cases, it means guru or spiritual leader. Babaji, is a little bit of everything. He lives in the small village called Diyaugi that you won’t find on google maps and is rarely visited by tourists.
In Diyaugi, you will get to know village life in its purest form, eat organic food from the gardens and the talks with Babaji make this little detour one of the highlights of the trip.
We talked about the Yak that stood by the house, Jordan told us that this is not any Yak but the Holy Yak of the village. He further said that he saw one of us touching it, and that this is normally not a good idea, but the Holy Yak knew that we didn’t know, so he let us leave with no harm. Located 5150m above sea level, Komic Village is one of the highest on earth.
With a population of approximately 150 people, including the monks from the monastery, Jordan and his wife live in Komic the whole year around. Due to the heavy snows and the lack of roads, the only transport during the winter months is by Yak (not the Holy Yak). Sharing his deep insights about the remote life at 5150m, Jordans stories will take your breath away.
Nick is based in Mestia, Svaneti and he is what one would consider a local. The Snowmads trips to Georgia would not have been the same without him and we are happy to have him on board. Nick is a certified mountain guide, ski guide and co-owner of the Cloudbase hut, where we always try to have stopover on our Georgia trips.
Nick always brings an extra dose of relaxation into his tours and one always feels safe under his guidance. His family also runs a small guest house in Mestia, where we will experience outstanding Georgian cuisine and hospitality.
When Rich first came to Georgia as a traveler a few years ago, tourism was still in its infancy. He got to know a local mountain guide, decided to raise the required 3000 lari (then around 1000 €) and co-founded the “Grand Hotel Ushba” in Mazeri with him.
Rich speaks Svan (local dialect), Russian, Norwegian and English, has a Ph.D in media and communication and knows pretty much every corner around his new home. His experiences in the mountains on foot and skis got published recently in: “The Essence Often He Caucasus – Svaneti”.
We are happy to have him with us as a Local Snowmad for our Georgia trips. Rich got more than a story to tell and understands how to bridge the gap between the modern western lifestyle and that of a Georgian peasant.

It took me a while to figure out what had been driving me to constantly go places since childhood. In addition to sports and adventure, it is now important to me to get to know people and their way of living which constantly makes me see the world from different perspectives.
Somehow I have the feeling that we are slowly loosing the spirit of travel. Nowadays, it mainly seems to serve recreational purposes or even leaving a good impression on Instagram. Recovering from our busy lifestyle at home rather than personal development through journeys.
Establishing a travel agency has crossed my mind since a few years already. I’m excited that now with Snowmads Travel I’m able to offer lasting experiences to everyone who is ready to make a step into uncertainty.
As a former competitive skier with a big passion for traveling, I spent a big part of my years in foreign countries looking for adventures and new people to meet. The older I got, the more I was able to define the experience that I was looking for in those travels.
I began to discover a purer and simpler form of traveling and at the same time dove deeper into my experiences on those journeys. When I started going on trips with the Snowmads, to places I before wouldn’t even have thought of, things took another turn. It seemed like I traveled back in time, when tourists haven’t been looked at as a wallet with two legs and arms, producing a ton of waste. There are still plenty of hidden corners and amazing places on this planet where people are welcoming and invite you for dinner to have a nice chat.
This way of traveling and exploring the world taught me so much and I’m grateful for all experiences made and those yet to come.
As a long time athlete manager and film producer traveling was always an important part of my life. Also from my personal travels I learned that the ones that connected me closest to nature, that brought me closer to people as well as those trips that challenged me to step out of my comfort zone and accept the foreign as a valuable opportunity to learn, became some of the richest and most influential experiences in my life.
Travel today is an important inspiration to develop as a human for me, a way to deal with today’s rising demands and the increasing speed in all areas, to find space to refocus and give something positive back into the system. When we started the Snowmads project and I produced the first Snowmads films the goal was always to inspire people to venture out themselves, to experience freedom and connect with nature and others. I am very excited that with Snowmads Travel we can now offer off line travel experiences following the Snowmads spirit to open-minded people and looking forward to the adventures ahead.
